Free Campaign Commercials

I can’t wait for the mid-term election to be over. It seems like the only commercials airing now are political ones. Since I have seen so many lately, I have a question. A lot of the adds say the opponent is against a woman’s free choice, even in cases of rape and incest. If that is the argument they want to make, fine, but wouldn’t it be better to prevent the rape in the first place? I haven’t heard anyone even mention that. Maybe they should be more worried about preventing the crime than dealing with the consequences.

I have 1 comment and several questions. If a company feels the need to tell their employees that the employees are their number 1 asset and priority, they probably aren’t. If that statement were true, there would be no need to tell the employees: they would already know.

If someone leaves the company and instead of replacing that employee, the company gives all that work to someone else, or several others, what is going through the mind of the company? Do they think the person that left didn’t do anything all day? Do they think the person/people that got that extra work are goofing off half the day? Do they think about this at all, or are they just glad that their bonus will get larger because they are doing the same work with less people?

I wonder if companies that do this tell their employees that they are their number 1 asset?

Impeachment is defined by legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com as “A process that is used to charge, try, and remove public officials for misconduct while in office.“

According to law.cornell.edu, the impeachment provisions in the Constitution were derived from English practices, but with differences. They say the Constitution limits impeachment to “office holders, and judgments are limited to no more than removal from office and disqualification to hold future office.”

So how the heck can Trump be impeached when he is no longer in office? Words mean something, at least they should. If you run over a corpse in the street (unlikely, I know), you can’t be charged with murder. You can’t perform an abortion on a woman that isn’t pregnant. You can’t amputate an arm that doesn’t exist.

Unless, of course, you’re a Democrat.

Fed up in Illinois!

I came across some interesting statistics today.  On a government website, they are proudly proclaiming that illegal immigrants brought in almost $795 million dollars in tax revenue to Illinois.  Wow,  that’s great!  I’m surprised we are not out of debt already!  That influx of tax money must assuredly help ease our debt and make it worthwhile to encourage even more illegal immigration to our great state.  Of course, that is only one side of the story, and the only side mentioned by our proud government.  According to a report by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, illegal immigration way back in 2007 cost Illinois taxpayers $3.5 Billion dollars in education, medical care, and incarceration costs.  Hmmmm, so the great influx in tax revenue, offset by the costs we are incurring, leaves a net cost to taxpayers of $2.7 Billion dollars.

Why is it that our elected officials are constantly looking for new taxes instead of finding ways to cut spending?  If they can’t find anything to cut, I can show them where to find $2.7 Billion in a hurry.

The gun control lobby is now omniscient.

After the San Bernardino terrorist attack, I happened to catch Hillary Clinton making a speech. Here is what she said: “We have to prevent people who are committed Jihadists, or want to become jihadists, from being able to purchase weapons of war”.

Hmmmm…. is there going to be a new form to fill out when buying a gun that asks if you are now, or are thinking about becoming a Jihadist? If you check that box, I suppose you don’t get the gun. I don’t really believe anyone is stupid enough to believe that. So, in the words of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, “Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.” Since we all know no one is going to check the Jihadist or Jihadist wanna-be box, the only logical answer is that the gun control lobby can now read minds. That should make everyone feel a lot safer.

The Protector in Chief

While leaders across the globe are trying to protect their countries from the terrors of ISIS, our President raised his sites.  He can’t be bothered wasting his precious time on a JV squad of rowdy youngsters.  Here are a couple of quotes he delivered during his commencement speech at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

“Climate change increases the risk of instability and conflict.”  He then warned them and other branches of the military to begin to factor climate change into daily plans and operations.

“Climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security; an immediate risk to our national security.”

So, lift up your hearts.  While these other countries are spinning their wheels worried about being attacked by some overheated miscreants, our glorious leader is going after the real threat: Global Warming.

Don’t you feel safer already?

Parking at the gas station

I would like to inform people that those big oblong boxes at the gas station / grocery store are not put there to help you find your car when you come out of the store.  There are usually plenty of parking spots along the sides of the lot.  Those big oblong boxes with hoses sticking out of them are actually for people to PUMP GAS!!!  Just because it looks like a nice close place to park while you go in to buy coffee, or groceries, or whatever, don’t park there unless you intend to BUY GAS!!!  You see, when you park there just to go shopping, you are preventing people from actually using that spot to BUY GAS!!!  Get over yourselves and think about other people for a change.  You know, all those other hominids in the world that aren’t you.

Another senseless shooting, another Obama mouthful

First of all, my thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims, friends and families of those people in Oregon who have had to suffer another awful shooting.

I (for some unknown reason) listened to Obama’s speech about the shooting.  He had the nerve to suggest that when we go to the polls we should ensure our elected officials reflect our views?  I fully believe that we should, but I can’t believe Obama has the gall to say it.  Does he remember Obamacare?  How many people wanted that?  Nobody but the politicians, that’s who.  Did he have a nice stirring speech at that time to tell everyone to vote out anyone who supported Obamacare?  Of course not, because this idiot talks out of both sides of his mouth.  The only time this vindictive little bully wants to hold people accountable is when they are doing something he doesn’t like.

Instead of handing out free Obamaphones, maybe he should be passing out free Obamaguns to every citizen so that when some maniac starts shooting, everyone can pull out their Obamaguns and fill him full of lead.

I am really sorry I missed Obama’s speech the other day.  I’m sure it was thoughtful, and heartfelt.  I’m sure he denounced the recent hunting down of police officers.  People who’s job is nothing less than protecting the rest of us.  I imagine people were in tears listening to him call for an end to the divisiveness of the “Black lives matter” marchers and a move toward inclusiveness and acceptance.  He is, after all, the great orator of our age. Hold on a sec….

(What?  He didn’t?  Seriously?)
